International Students


American Flying Academy is authorized under Federal Law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students. 
The following conditions must be met for issuing a form I-20: 

1. You must be 17 or older and be able to speak read and write English.

2. You must fill out the Student Application.

3. Student must fund their account prior to commencing.

4. A copy of your passport (valid for at least one year).

5. An administrative fee paid to American Flying Academy. This fee covers
admissions processing and proper preparation and filing, and maintenance of legal documentation.

6. A $200 USD Students and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVIS) fee (I-901) must be paid directly to SEVIS by going online to: http://www.fmjfee.com/

7. A $160 fee for Form DS-160 paid here: https://ceac.state.gov/genniv. You must go to your local US embassy/consulate to receive your visa. 

In addition, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requires all non-US citizens pursuing a Pilot Certificationto register at: www.fllightschoolcandidates.gov 
Most applicants will fall under category 3 and will require paying a $130 USD fee directly to the TSA.
Upon arrival, the student must undergo a law enforcement fingerprinting that costs approximately $25 USD paid directly to the provider.
